Terms & Conditions for all teacher training courses

Students are advised to read our policy and code of conduct prior to committing to payment for the course.

Acceptance of enrolment and course payments
Zama Yoga reserves the right to refuse your enrolment.

Full course payment is required prior to graduation. If this balance is not paid on or before the due date we reserve the right to treat your enrolment as cancelled and no monies are refundable.

If you choose a payment plan option, payments are due on a monthly basis. Your enrolment may be cancelled should a payment be late and no monies are refundable.

Cancellation by the student

For courses greater than 60 hours, enrolments cancelled within 7 days of purchase will receive a refund of fees paid less a non-refundable deposit (equivalent to 1 x monthly payment plan fee as per the price of the enrolled course at the time of enrolment), $10 payment reversal fee, $150 charge per course manual (digital or hard copy where applicable) and any completed mentoring sessions. Courses that are greater than 60 hours includes but is not limited to 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, 350hr Yoga Teacher Training, 200-350hr Yoga Teacher Training, 110hr Meditation Teacher Training and others.

No refunds apply to short courses of 60 hours or less under any circumstance. This includes but is not limited to L1 Pilates Matwork, L2 Pilates Matwork, Barre and Yin.

Access to all online content will be removed.

Additional cancellation fees may apply.

No cancellations apply after 7 days of enrolment date of a course and all payments owing are recoverable.

Cancellation by Zama Yoga

We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time.

We may cancel your enrolment for mental and physical health reasons, non-attendance, disruption of others in the course, continuing breaches of our Code of Conduct, or for any reason by which we reasonably deem you unfit to remain in the course.

We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred and a cancellation fee and course fees may be retained by us.

Attendance

No refunds or make ups apply to any missed workshops under any circumstance regardless of notice given. Full payment is required for all missed workshops for all courses. Please consider this when enrolling.

Due to varying teaching and content schedules between course intakes, it is not possible to arrange make up sessions.

Attendance at workshops regardless of enrolment/payment is generally optional for course graduation. They are not a requirement of any course as online material is provided lieu and additional assessment applies.

Course Completion & Practice Journal Requirements

All courses are to be completed within the time frame specified for each course which begins from commencement of course workshops, or from date of enrolment for online courses.

200hr YTT: 3 months minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment. Practice journal continued for 12 months for Yoga Australia purposes.

200 – 350hr YTT Upgrade: 3 months minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment. Practice journal dated for 12 months for Yoga Australia purposes.

350hr YTT: 3 months minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment. Practice journal dated for 12 months for Yoga Australia purposes.

110hr Meditation: 3 months minimum and 12 month maximum completion time, from date of enrolment. Practice journal dated for 12 months for Meditation Australia purposes.

L1 Matwork Pilates: No minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment.

L2 Matwork Pilates: No minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment.

Barre: No minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment.

Yin: No minimum and 12 months maximum completion time, from date of enrolment.

Extension Requests

All assignments must be completed within the course duration time frame specified for the course. Zama Yoga may offer students extensions after this date at $150 for a 3 month extension only. Extensions are granted on a case by case basis upon application. Failure to comply with the 3 month extension date without valid reason may result in a failure of the course.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL generally does not apply to any courses.

Course Registration & Prerequisites

Entry requirements for a course are specified under the prerequisites of each course (if applicable). It is the responsibility of the student to ensure they meet the mandatory entry requirements of a course. If you choose to enrol into a course and do not hold the required prerequisites for entry, you do so knowing that you will not receive a certificate of completion.

Zama Yoga will not be held responsible for misconduct of a student who chooses to breach course registration and prerequisites. Zama Yoga reserves the right to cancel an enrolment if they do not meet the course entry requirements and no monies are refundable.

Can I suspend my course?

Students are not able to suspend their course at any stage. You can request an extension, depending on your circumstance. Please refer to extension request policies.

Assignments

Students are responsible for maintaining a record of their assignments and practice journals at all times. Copies of submitted assignments are not available.

Health Requirements

We are not medical experts. It is your responsibility to ensure that you obtain proper and detailed medical advice at least two months prior to enrolment as to your suitability for it.

We have no liability to you for any cost, loss or damage which you suffer.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage which you may suffer (directly or indirectly) in connection with or arising out of your participation in the course.

You release us and our officers, employees, agents and representatives from any liability and expressly waive any claims you may have against us arising out of or in connection with your participation.

Filming and Photography

When you enter a Zama Yoga campus, course, event, or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

By entering the premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by Zama Yoga. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar Zama Yoga events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of Zama Yoga. You release Zama Yoga, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitising, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings.

By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by Zama Yoga or the person or entity designated to do so by Zama Yoga.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event.

Educational Support and Assessment

Courses are multidimensional and may include workshops, class styles and online components. All courses are delivered in English.

There is an expectation of home practice, reading and online material to complete each course. You will be offered teaching support during face-to-face workshops where appropriate.

Course Completion

You must submit all assessments including practice journals (if applicable) assigned to you throughout the duration of the course to graduate.

For short courses, a certificate of attendance will be issued for the hours attended. Short courses generally have additional reading and assignments and if completed a certificate for contact and non contact hours will be issued.

All monies must be paid in full prior to graduation. All courses are to be completed within the time frame specified (please refer to course duration).

Code of Conduct
To guarantee each student the best experience possible Zama Yoga asks:
Please sign in to all workshops and classes.
Classes begin on time, so arrive before the start time of class. Entry into class is not guaranteed for students who arrive late.
Please plan to stay for the entire time of each workshop and class. Leaving the room should be strictly limited to urgent matters.
No pagers or mobile phones in the yoga room.
Feel free to speak to a teacher during class, but please no social conversations during class.
Treat others exactly the way you want to be treated. We will not tolerate students that are rude, insulting, or offensive to the staff and fellow students. We reserve the right to ask those behaving in this manner to leave the premises.
